چکیده
Nowadays, nano mineral modified biochars show a promising adsorption capacity for pollutants removals by combining the advantages of porous structure biochar and unique property minerals. In this work, nano-zinc oxide doped scrap tire derived activated carbon (nZnO-STAC) was synthesized wetness impregnation method. Equilibrium data were analyzed using Langmuir Freundlich isotherm models while kinetics process examined Lagergren Pseudo-first second order, intraparticle diffusion Elovich kinetic models. Characterization Powder X-ray Diffraction (PXRD). The surface groups present on determined Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis. Optimization studies carried out to determine effects pH, initial metal concentration, adsorbent dosage, contact time particle size Cr (VI) removal efficiency. results showed optimum at pH 3, 10 mg/L 120 minutes 1000 - 1400 μm dosage 2.5 g/L. found be predominantly amorphous. chromium efficiency around 81.6%. Of tested models, pseudo-second order model exhibited best fit with experimental an R2 value 0.9744. This study clearly demonstrates feasibility nano-ZnO tyre remediation polluted industrial wastewaters.
